Perseverance Theatre presents The Director's Lab, a learning space for aspiring and early-career directors; for Alaskans, by Alaskans.
The objective of The Director’s Lab is to develop the talent pool of early-career directors and equip artists with the tools necessary to succeed in today’s field as directors at Perseverance Theatre and beyond. Each cycle will select one director from a pool of early-career professionals in the state of Alaska to be paired with an established Director in the field. The selected participant will understand the principles and techniques of play direction – to include script selection, directorial analysis, casting, composition, blocking, tempo, and rehearsal planning - all through the lens of Justice, Equity, Decolonization, Inclusion and Access.
The inaugural 2024 Director's Lab presentation will be Founders, Keepers by Aurora Behlke, directed by Kylie Ferguson, mentored by Leslie Ishii.
We will be accepting submissions for actors of all ages to support the Director's Lab, to audition on or before Monday, April 1st. Auditions will be by registration only. Click the link to register for a time-slot
