The Great Leap by Lauren Yee, Directed by Leslie Ishii

Perseverance Theatre and Breaking Waves Theatre Company, in partnership with the University of Alaska Anchorage College of Arts & Sciences, present:

We Will Not Go Silent

From Guåhan, a story where land, water, air, and people speak.

From the Pacific island of Guåhan (Guam), a nationally recognized theatre production arrives in Anchorage. Blending theatre, puppetry, music, poetry, and movement, “We Will Not Go Silent” explores the connections between land, water, air, and the communities that depend on them.

Rooted in Chamoru storytelling and Indigenous relationships with the environment, the performance invites audiences to reflect on climate, culture, and the responsibility of caring for the places we call home.
